A beautiful French dental tooth key
with an unusual mechanism which allow the clasp to be rotated. The
bolster is circular with four notches which when secured by a lever
on the shaft keep the clasp in the desired position. The lever is
sunk into the body of the shaft and pivots up and down when pressure
is applied over the thumb rest. The distal 3mm of the securing lever
is missing but the instrument is otherwise in excellent condition.
The handle is made from Royal Ebony and is finely carved with
concentric rings at either end. Unsigned.
