A small (10cm high) 19th C conical
brass ear trumpet with a high gloss black japanned finished. This
was a very durable glaze like covering designed to protect the
trumpet. There has been wear to the paint finish but the overall
condition of the trumpet is excellent with the exception a few very
minor dings. The painted surface of the fixed ear piece has worn
away and I am unsure about the underlying material which could be
Bakelite but appears to have a grain
