A much sought after pair of miniature
gold plated ear trumpets with ivory ear pieces signed "J.H.F.C. Rein
& Son Sole inventor and maker 108 Strand London". They are housed in
their original purple velvet lined leather case. A similar example
in brass and not by Rein is shown in
Elizabeth Bennion's "Antique Hearing Devices".
