A rare 19th century ear horn made from
tin. It is of the convoluted style, but unusually has been made from
the joining together of a series of bulbous segments, either as an aid
to air conduction or for cosmetic effect. The finish is some form of
black lacquer which is well maintained apart from a small area on the
apex (see photo). The inside is also black although the opening of the
trumpet has been silvered. The ear piece is made from metal. Size:
wide 120 x high 200 mm |
